Chad Humphrey enlisted in the USMCR in 1993 during his first year at Occidental College. He began his service with HQ 5th Bn, 14 Marines, 4th Mar Div. Over the course of nearly 15 years, Private Humphrey advanced to Artillery Survey Officer. In 2005, as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, Chad served as both the S-3A and S-4A for the Battalion.
After returning from deployment, Chad joined the G-7 FRAAP, Marine Forces Reserve. He honorably retired as a CWO 2 in August 2013.
For the past decade, Chad has sold a business, worked on government contracts, launched an algorithmic trading firm, and started a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firm. He has also been involved in software development, with a focus on startups. Despite his busy schedule, Chad still makes time to train at his local Muay Thai gym, often sparring with people half his age.
Chad holds a BA from Occidental College and an MBA with an emphasis in Finance from Pepperdine University. Chad currently resides in Denver with his wife of 17 years, their 9-year-old son, and two undisplined dogs.
Every good Marine has their action-packed war shots, but this is the only known photo of CWO2 Chad smiling during OIF... and of course, it's with a military working dog.

After all, if we were just in it for the money, spending 20 years in the Marine Corps probably wouldn't have made a lot of sense.
